This year’s TOFS Awareness Week runs from 28th February to 6th March. Our aim is to advance the knowledge of OA/TOF amongst health professionals, but we can’t do it without your help!
Here are just a few of the ways you can get involved to raise awareness.
Share a free digital copy of THE TOF BOOK with your GP or health professional
As part of our 40th year anniversary, we have launched our OA/TOF library for medical professionals. This online resource gives professionals access to our books and guides for free to assist them in treating OA/TOF patients.
Please use our template letter to ask your GP, health visitor, chemist or any other health care professional to sign up or ask them to complete the application form here.
Write to your MP
Ask your MP to support our call for consistent lifelong multi-disciplinary care for people born with OA. (Please feel free to download our template letter and amend it to make it more personal to you.)
Share your story
TOFS Awareness Week is a great opportunity to speak to press about your experiences of living with a rare condition. We’ve produced a short press briefing about OA/TOF that you can use when speaking to journalists.
Please also share your stories on social media.
You will find a selection of images you can use when posting along with some suggested wording. Please remember to tag us in any posts and use the hashtags #tofs #40yearsofsupport so we can re-share them.
Update your profile pic
We’ve also created a selection of profile images that you can use for the duration of awareness week. Simply download one from here and use it instead of your current profile pic.
Spread the word
New for this year is our TOFS Awareness car window sticker.
You can also order ‘lifelong support’ wristbands and ‘cute but not contagious’ bibs – all of which will help to raise the profile of OA/TOF.
You can find these available to order direct from the TOFS online shop. (These items are provided free of charge to TOFS Members but please consider making a donation when ordering to help offset our costs.)
Get Fundraising
There are loads of ways to help raise vital funds for TOFS and have fun at the same time. Why not hold your own “Tea for TOFS” afternoon tea party? Or hold a Facebook fundraiser? You’ll find bespoke invitations and more fundraising ideas on the site.
You will find all the resources you need on the dedicated TOFS Awareness Week page but please contact us if you would like any more information.
