Join Columbia University Irving Medical Center this Sunday (5pm UK) for a progress update on the CARE EA/TEF Study which many members of TOFS participated in.
The study which examines the genetics around the causes of OA/TOF, hopes the results might aid understanding of why the condition occurs and help improve management guidelines and treatment outcomes for affected people in the future.
The team has published a paper on sequencing DNA data from about 200 participants earlier this year and will discussing their finding on the talk. The full paper “Identification and validation of candidate risk genes in endocytic vesicular trafficking associated with esophageal atresia and tracheoesophageal fistulas” can also be found in the Research Section on our site.

The CARE EA/TEF study has also been approved for funding for another year and will continue to enrol families into the study.
