Disclaimer: Your use of TOFS printed publications

TOFS publishes a number of leaflets, information cards, a magazine (Chew) and so on, which do not have enough space to carry this full disclaimer.  The publisher is T.O.F.S.(commonly known as TOFS)  a UK based non-profit organisation registered under Charity no.  327735 and Company no. 2202260. Founded in 1982, TOFS is the world’s largest English-language support group for people born with Oesophageal Atresia.

UK focus

TOFS publications are focussed on current practices and norms within the UK.  The nomenclature and spellings conform to UK norms.  Some of the information provided by TOFS may not be appropriate or permissible outside the UK. TOFS cannot be responsible for complying with local laws. Unless explicitly stated to the contrary, TOFS publications are intended for adults, and TOFS offers them subject to the laws of England, our home jurisdiction.

Information only, no advice, no opinion

TOFS publications provide patient-focussed general information about healthcare for those impacted by Oesophageal Atresia and related conditions. Some of the information is in the form of anecdotal experiences of individual OA patients and their families.  Unless explicitly stated in those contributions, the authors hold no relevant qualifications. It should not be assumed that successes reported in one case will necessarily be repeated in others.

TOFS is not engaged in the practice of medicine, and this information is not intended or offered as medical advice and is absolutely not a substitute for the patient’s individual consultation with qualified healthcare professionals who are fully informed as to the patient’s medical history, individual situation and needs.

Any person making any use of any information provided by TOFS accepts full responsibility for doing so and any consequences thereof.

Some of the content herein originates from third-party contributors (credited by name in that content and not staff or trustees of TOFS) and any opinions expressed in that content are those of the contributors themselves, and not necessarily those of TOFS.

Due care taken, ”as is” basis,  but no liability

Considerable care has been taken in the preparation of TOFS publications. But TOFS offers no warranty (whether expressed or implied) of the completeness, appropriateness or accuracy or timeliness of any content to be found in our publications, or in any of the external resources (or websites) to which our publications may refer.

TOFS will not accept any responsibility or any liability for any errors or omissions in our publications (or in external resources or websites) or any consequences that may have arisen from the use of such information, or from an inability to use it.
