The 4th International Conference on Oesophageal Atresia takes place Sydney from 15 – 16 September 2016. Our TOFS charity will be represented. The conference which is held every 2 or 3 years, brings together many of the world's leading experts in the field of TOF medicine to discuss and learn about the advances being made in the treatment of those born with the TOF condition. The program will lead to an improved understanding of Oesophageal Atresia, inspire development of innovative therapies, enhance local and international collaborations and help establish well defined evidence based standards of care for Oesophageal Atresia. We are to be represented at the Conference at the conference by our Secretary, Graham Slater, who is also the Chairman of EAT (the International Federation of Support Groups) and is himself an adult TOF, and John Pearce our Treasurer who has a son who was born with the condition. Their report will be available to read in the next edition of CHEW. Last year we had the honour of being the first support group to be invited to address a conference of the British Association of Peadiatric Surgeons. This year we have gone even further. Graham and the Chair of OARA (the Australian support group) have jointly been invited to address this prestigeous conference. This reflects the ongoing cooperation between the leading OA medical Specialists and professionally organised support groups like our own.
