A RECORD YEAR FOR TOFS

Published: Fri, 8th June 2018, 11:24:00 PM
Presenting the 2017 TOFS accounts at the recent A.G.M. Treasurer John Pearce was delighted to announce that it had been a record year for our small charity. For the first time in our history we had received more than £100,000 in donations.   Whether it is £3000 raised from running a marathon or organising an event, £300 donated in memory of a much loved TOF grandparent, or £30 from selling cakes every amount, large or small, is equally appreciated.    Six years ago, we were in a situation where we were spending significantly more than we were receiving in donations and were in real danger of running out of funds. Today thanks to careful management of our resources and the magnificent fund-raising efforts of our members our financial situation has been transformed and we now have sufficient reserves not only to guarantee our expenditure over the next year but to be able to expand the services we currently provide.   Last year we were able to appoint an Information Officer to improve the quality and quantity of information we can pass on to our members, we have recently started work on updating the leaflets and medical documentation available on our website, and over the coming months the Trustees will be looking at new projects which will benefit all who were born with TOF/OA   If any of our members have ideas on further help our charity could offer, or projects we could consider please to let us know about them. Remember it is your charity, and your Trustees work really hard to provide the help which is most important to you, the Charity members.
