TOFS helps to train Therapists

Bristol Royal Hospital for Children ran a two-day training course last week mainly for paediatric Speech and Language Therapists (SaLTs), all about ‘Feeding for the under ones’.

Various specialists presented to the West Country audience of West Country SaLTs, nurses and dieticians. TOFS was the only Patient Support Group invited to present, and we sent along TOFS' Trustee John Pearce to explain more about TOF/OA, the issues it causes for swallowing particularly for very young children, how TOFS helps, and to answer questions.

We were especially pleased to be asked for permission to give all the attendees reprints of Julia Faulkner’s excellent articles from our newsletter Chew about weaning the TOF baby. Julia is an experienced paediatric Dietician from the West Country, who also has a TOF son. You can hear Julia speak at our forthcoming TOFS 2018 Conference, where anyone with an interest in TOF/OA is most welcome.
