Exciting developments for TOFS-endorsed research project

We are delighted that TOFS' newest patron, Professor De Coppi, and his team at Crick and Great Ormond Street are in the news with exciting developments in a TOFS-endorsed research project.

The team have grown a bio-engineered oesophagus and successfully transplanted it into mice. Professor De Coppi at Great Ormond Street Hospital has led this innovative research, a project which has formally been endorsed by the TOFS charity over the past few years. This is very exciting for the health of our TOF population in the future!

Professor De Coppi spoke at a TOFS Conference in 2014 and again in 2017 about his work. If anyone would like to read the reports on his presentation they are in the Winter 2014 and Winter 2017 editions of Chew, available on the members section of this website. Professor De Coppi is a member of the TOFS Medical Advisory Group and we continue to work closely with him.

We look forward to telling members more about these exciting development in our next edition of our newsletter.
