This year, the TOFS 2020 Awareness week will run from 24 February to 1 March. To celebrate Rare Disease Day on 29 February, we are having a Family Information and Support event with Sean Marven and Jane Shaw on Saturday, 29 February, 11am - 1pm in Church of St Columba, 503 Manchester Road, Crosspool, Sheffield, S10 5PL.
Meet and share experiences with parents, carers and Adult TOFs. Adult TOFs are particularly welcome - with or without children!
We are delighted that Consultant Paediatric Surgeon (and TOFS' patron) Sean Marven, will join us for the session to talk about oesophageal dysmotility and reflux. Clinical Lead, Paediatric Dysphagia, Speech and Language Therapist Jane Shaw, will be in attendance with a 'TOF-friendly' food stand. Jane will answer your questions about weaning and swallowing, and share tips to help make for a positive feeding experience for OA/TOF children.
TOFS are excited to announce that we will be joining with Mess Around South Yorkshire to entertain your children at our Family Support and Information session!
Mess Around South Yorkshire run larger than life, multi-sensory messy play events for under 5's and their families. They will also provide craft activities for our older children. Little ones can squelch, pour, mix and get messy to their hearts content in our exciting themed activity trays, on our paint wall and slime channel set. With music, bubbles and a snow machine finale, it’s all about a party atmosphere and making fabulous messy memories as they don't stay small for long!
Please note one adult will be required to oversee their children during the session at all times. Bring a change of clothes and a towel and be prepared to have lots of fun!
Refreshments and a light buffet lunch will be provided, courtesy of TOFS. If you prefer, you may bring along a packed lunch for your accompanying children, as we know the foods that children born with TOF/OA can manage vary widely from one individual to another. We would like to have lunch together as part of our information session and this will provide a valuable opportunity for families to share different food ideas.
The event is FREE to TOFS' members. Please note there is no parking on-site but we are assured that ample street parking is available.
Bookings are open now, and numbers are limited, so early booking is essential. Just follow this link to book.
