Published: Mon, 12th July 2021, 12:35:00 PM

We are happy to announce that, due to an generous donation from TOFS' member, Sarah Spice (pictured below), we are able to offer our new members who are parents of OA/TOF children a complimentary copy of The TOF Book and The Soft Food Recipe Book

This offer will only be available for a limited time, for those who join after 12 July 2021, so please reply to your welcome email stating which book (or both) you would like and we will send them out to you free of charge.

The TOF Book, by Vicki Martin and David Crabbe, is our very useful reference book with chapters on every aspect of OA/TOF and VACTERL condition, from infancy to adulthood and The Soft Food Recipe Book features many recipes for the whole family which have been tried and tested by our TOFS community.

Sarah Spice and son Nicholas

Thank you to member Sarah Spice, mum of Nicholas born with OA/TOF, for her kind donation.  Here's what she had to say about the inspiration behind her fundraising:

'At first, I set out to raise £150 to purchase ten TOF information books to be passed on to new parents with babies born with TOF.  With the amount that I raised, TOFS is now able to supply more parents with not only The TOF Book, but also the Recipe Book

The TOF Book helped me hugely, not just when Nicholas was small, but also at times since.  I will be giving it to future care-givers and schools to read and familiarise themselves with this condition and related issues, so that everybody is aware.  Fortunately, Nicholas is doing well, but a lot of people see him and don’t realise the struggles we face daily, because he looks so well.  I am happy that I have raised such a huge amount, which will hopefully go towards helping new families by providing them with some real information to help them along their journey.'
