Transitioning from paediatric to adult care

This project has now ended and is no longer accepting applications. Updates will still be shown on this page as and when we get them. To see the current list of TOFS endorsed research projects please click here.

We’re delighted to announce this research study into transitioning from paediatric to adult care in the UK.

Please watch our short video about the importance of engagement with the study.

Trainee Clinical Psychologist, Andy Haig-Ferguson, from the University of Bath is interested in hearing about your experience of transition. Adults 16 or over may take part, and their parents may take part in addition (or instead of the Adult TOF).

The research aims to explore parents’ and young people’s experiences of moving from child to adult healthcare and it will contribute to a doctoral project in clinical psychology.

We hope that findings from this research may be beneficial in designing more appropriate services and better supporting families so that TOF adolescents make more successful transitions from child to adult healthcare.

A further benefit of this research may also be to share the positive coping strategies that families have adopted.
