OA/TOF is a rare condition that affects 1 in every 3,500 babies. Some children born with OA/TOF may have life-long difficulties with swallowing and digesting food, Gastro-Oesophageal Reflux and respiratory problems.
The effects of surgery and associated health problems can add a great deal to the usual challenges of parenthood.
For parents and carers of OA/TOFs, attending school or nursery, especially for the first time, represents a huge achievement for their little ones.
