Treatments for Barrett’s Oesophagus, Oesophageal Cancer, and other GI Problems

Mr James Gossage is a Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in London.

He is currently Chairman of the Regional Cancer Network, Service Lead for Upper GI Surgery and Surgical Lead for Upper GI Cancer. After qualification in 1999, Mr Gossage obtained a Master of Surgery degree from the University of London. He then received a Royal College of Surgeons Research Fellowship Grant and was awarded a Hunterian Professorship. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2010 and was appointed as a Consultant Surgeon in 2011 at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals NHS Trust.

The unit is a busy university teaching hospital dealing with a large number of complex upper gastrointestinal disorders. It specialises in the treatment of oesophageal cancer and in both revisional and reconstructive surgery.
