In January 2026 TOFS was awarded the PIF TICK, the UK’s only independently-assessed quality mark for print and online health and care information, to become a “trusted information creator”.
To qualify, we had to undergo an assessment showing we met 10 key criteria.
When you see the PIF TICK logo on our website or resources, it’s a sign that you can be assured that what you are reading, watching or listening to from TOFS is evidence-based, up-to-date and easy to understand.
Our aim is to help those affected by OA/TOF. This means producing healthcare resources to the highest standard, giving patients and carers the confidence that the information provided by TOFS is vetted, accurate, and trustworthy.
The PIF TICK, which launched in May 2020, is run by the Patient Information Forum (PIF) charity.
In July 2021, the PIF TICK website was launched to raise awareness of PIF TICK certified information creators. The site also includes guides on topics including spotting false health information and understanding evidence.
In order to achieve PIF TICK accreditation, TOFS had to meet the following criteria.
